Early in the summer, I hopped into a little antique and vintage shop in Johnson City, Tennessee called Unique Treasures; I was drawn in by this unusual box bag doused with bug gems. I wanted it badly, but didn't want to fork out the dough just yet. I decided if I

really

wanted it- needed it- in my life, I would get it if it was still there the next time I stopped in (a habit that I have way too often when shopping. My thrifty nature!). Once I got the news that I was going to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to write for Chictopia, I knew it was time to get the bag. "But would it still be there? Not possible," I thought. I walked inside the store disappointed to see that it was no longer in the window display. June, the lovely owner, greeted me, and I dishearteningly asked if she still had the "box bag with the colorful bug gems". She was unsure. We both looked around, and then I looked up, way up, and there it was: sitting pretty on top of an old chest. Upon a second look, I knew that was the bag that would travel with me to NYC.

And if you're ever in East Tennessee, you must stop inside the recently-expanded boutique Unique Treasures, 127 Spring St., Johnson City, TN. Not only does it have bags like this but antique jewellery, odds and ends and handmade clothing and accessories. And if it calls to you, you can get a tarot reading while there by June herself.

Photos coming very soon of my bag in New York City!
