Same Coat, Different Look

Today I'm wearing the same coat I've been wearing for probably two weeks straight because it goes with everything. It can turn even the most bla·sé outfit into an #ootd worth photographing. And you really cannot beat the price for a wool blend coat that is lined and well made (right now, just over $10 on Dresslink).

I've had this Diesel sweatshirt since 2001 (what is that, 15 years?!), and it still looks brand new. Love its muted green hue and the high neckline. It's perfect for refined sporty looks.

Just got these gorgeous boots from Ralph Lauren. They were on sale and a half size too small, but when I tried them on they fit perfectly. Meant to be. Wasn't the Ralph Lauren Fall Winter 2016 Collection glorious? His use of brown hues and metallics blew me away. You should go to ralphlauren.com just to see the video on the home page. Definite website design goals (part of what I do for a living, so I'm allowed to geek out).

Okay, on to the necklace from By Invite Only. You may have seen this before on my blog because it's one of my favorite pieces of handcrafted jewellery. The founder of By Invite Only, Trixie Khong, is uber-talented and self-taught! You should buy her jewelry. That is all.

My eyeglasses are from Polette, and right now I'm hosting a Polette Eyewear giveaway. Get your buns over to this page to ENTER TO WIN A PAIR OF POLETTE GLASSES OR SUNGLASSES!

Happy Saturday! It's starting to feel more like winter here in Tennessee. How's the weather there?

Here's a simple look with one of my favorite vintage finds: this silver cape jacket. I paired this with a plunge-neck 80's bodysuit and super basic khaki shorts from early 00's Gap. The nude platform heels by Boutique 9 add a little sassiness that is definitely, always necessary.

Alright, back to spending time nursing my plants and wrapping up a website for a client who just sent me some cookies in the mail; love my job!

Here's a little #OOTD with Acne Studios Kobe Shoes from Solestruck. I grabbed this minimalist vintage dress off the racks at my local thrift store, and when I got it home I realized why I wanted it so badly: It SO Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And it's so soft! What I really want to do is watch the original Star Wars movies and wear this as PJs and then wear it to see The Force Awakens with braids and brown leather boots. Yes. That's a great plan.

I also need to tell you guys about Solestruck's fantastic new Home Try-On program. You get to try on three pairs of shoes before you buy, and it's kind of a dream come true. It's like trying on shoes at the store, except you get to pair them with different outfits. Just don't scuff them up if they don't work for you!

Jacket Saved my Life

Ladywolf Blog_Outfit_Whitney Williams_ (2).jpeg
Dear Jacket,
How did you not come into my life sooner? I mean, I never knew I'd love embroidery this much until I met you. And while I would wear you with nothing else, I must share you with other clothing items, like these beautiful Vagabond boots. And these black cropped jeans. And this wide-brim wool hat and ring by Sophie Harper (from Rocksbox). I'll go without a shirt though; that's how close I want to be to you. I mean, jacket, I never knew true love until I met you.
Forever yours,
Whitney

SERIOUSLY THOUGH...My love for thrifting was revived when I found this jacket; so much so that I scream-whispered "LADYWOLF!" when I saw it. And since I've had this beautifully quirky vintage jacket/blazer/whatever you want to call it in my life, I cannot stop doting on it. You guys understand. To be completely honest with y'all, it was the discovery of this jacket that brought Ladywolf back to life, so everyone should be writing letters to it.

In a galaxy far, far away...

With my bangs grown out and another year of life under my belt, I'm back, baby. For over a year, I took a step back from the fashion blogging grind, opting for a mostly social media-free life; with the occasional, obligatory dog (#teddythejack) and cat (#dexterthecat) posts, and selfies that I almost always deleted soon after. Needless to say, I've been toying with the idea of quitting fashion blogging for good for an entire year. Here it is though, December of 2015, and I'm doing it again. Why, you say? Simply put, it makes me happy. And while I've quietly observed the social media trends come and go since early 2014, I've realized that I still have a voice; I am still unique. We all are. And while the Kardashians of the world have become fashion and beauty icons to cult followers with a certain body-conscious style aesthetic, I like to think that us little ol' fashion bloggers can still inspire with our own personal style.

So, how do you guys like the new blog? Take a look around, and let me know what you think! I've worked really hard to get the new site launched all on my own; with my main focus being on Whitney S W Creative (hey! that me! i take photos, style outfits for folks, build websites, etc). It's been quite the challenge to get Ladywolf back on its feet. I'm so excited about it though, you guys. I've even resurrected Ladywolf Vintage (shop launching soon) and am working on a new Ladywolf line for 2016. Without further adieu, let's plunge right back into this.

I'm sliding into this new blog with a pretty laid-back, simple look. This look was worn to a food truck junction in Johnson City, Tennessee (1st annual in JC and a hit with the locals!). While I wish I could've sampled all of the food truck menus, I gave Foodie Fiction and Caribbean Grill a try; both excellent. And boy, did I choose the perfect day to wear a crisp, new white shirt, with the Bahn Mi and the tacos and such that I was stuffing in my face. Miraculously, I didn't spill a drop on my shirt, but there were some close calls. The beige knit cardigan and the red ankle boots are vintage. The black cropped jeans are BDG. The necklace is from Rocksbox. Poet sleeve blouse from Choies. The hat is from Target.

Since I've been on the down low for a while, I've been so bad at networking on Instagram. Let's be friends there! @Ladywolf

Until next time.
